NEW ENGLAND WILD FLOWER SOCIETY HONORS OUTSTANDING SERVICE BY NEW HAMPSHIRE RESIDENTS
Framingham, Massachusetts — At the November 4th Annual Meeting held at Garden in the Woods headquarters, New England Wild Flower Society honored native plant achievements in conservation and horticulture, including those of distinguished New Hampshire individuals and organizations.
Bruce and Sarah Schwaegler of Orford, New Hampshire received the Service to the Society Award for irreplaceable support of the Society in many ways including teaching, planning events, serving on committees and for gracious and repeated hospitality to plant conservation volunteers.
Ted Elliman, the Society's IPANE Coordinator presented the award saying, "As longtime supporters of native plant activities in New Hampshire and also Vermont, they are an irreplaceable asset to plant conservation in New England."
Sarah Schwaegler thanked the Society remarking, "We are deeply honored to receive this award. I appreciate the Society just for being here, and also for the classes and the Plant Conservation Volunteer program. Most of all, it is possible to share a WILD passion for native plants with the Society and the conservation volunteers, for which I am very grateful.
Bruce Schwaegler added, " I love to participate in organizations and observe changes in management and direction. It's been a ball for me and observing the Society for over twenty years I am very impressed with the strength, capability and continued progress. It's been a real pleasure."
Sarah Schwaegler's service reflects a 25-year interest in wildflowers.
