Garden in the Woods is easily accessed from major highways near Boston. The Garden is open mid-April through October.

Directions:
From North, South, East --Take Route 128 to Route 20 W; go 8 miles on Route 20 to Raymond Road (2nd left after traffic lights in South Sudbury); go south 1.3 miles to Hemenway Road and bear right up the hill to the entrance.
From West -- Take Massachusetts Turnpike. (Exit 12) to Route 9 E; go 2.4 miles to Edgell Road exit; turn left at the lights at the top of the exit ramp onto Edgell Road (Route 9 overpass); go 2.1 miles to the traffic lights; take a right onto Water Street and a left onto Hemenway Road. Go north 1.0 miles (the road name changes to Eisenhower Road, but keep going). Turn left onto Catherine, and left again on Hemenway after one block (up a one-way road) to the entrance. There are green Garden in the Woods signs which point the way from Route 9.
From Route 9 Westbound -- Follow Route 9 into Framingham and take the exit marked Route 30 West (Same exit for Framingham State College). At top of ramp turn right onto Edgell Road and follow directions above. There are green Garden in the Woods signs which point the way from Route 9.

Leaving the Garden
Please note ONE WAY sign. You MUST turn right when leaving Garden in the Woods.
To Rte 9: Go out the gate and turn right (one-way road). At the first junction, bear right. At the end of the road, turn right onto Water St, and turn left at the first traffic light onto Edgell Rd, which will take you to Rte 9.
To Rte 20: Go out the gate and turn right (one-way road). At the first junction, make a sharp left. Take the first left onto Catherine, but continue straight past the Garden in the Woods signs. The road curves right--follow it all the way to Rte 20.
Hours:
Please visit Garden in the Woods during its 2013 Season. The paths and trails of the Garden are open for visitors April 13 through October 31 (Tuesday thru Sunday plus holiday Mondays).

April 13–October 31: Garden in the Woods and its Garden Shop open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. with last admissions at 4:30 p.m.

April 13-October 31: Guided walking tours are conducted Tuesdays through Fridays and holiday Mondays when the Garden is open at 10 a.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. No reservations are necessary for guided walking tours. There is no additional charge above the price of admission for these tours.
- November 1–April 13: Botanic Garden paths and trails, Garden Shop, and Native Plant Nursery closed to the public.
Please note:
To ensure the safety of all visitors and to protect the plant collections and natural resources of our properties, bicycles, off-road vehicles, and vehicles or motorized devices used for mobility assistance (with the exception of wheelchairs) are not permitted on the paths at Garden in the Woods or in the Society’s sanctuaries. We encourage anyone with mobility issues to sign up in advance for a cart tour of Garden in the Woods (contact lreed@newenglandwild.org), as wheelchairs are not recommended on the steep terrain.
