This large woods on the north side of Concord Massachusetts has more fern diversity than one might expect. The normal array of common ferns is augmented by rich swamp edges and especially by small old limestone quarry pits. We expect to see Massachusetts fern, Christmas fern, Ebony Spleenwort, Fragile fern, and maybe a couple of other calciphiles. Some walking but not much climbing, mostly off trail. Wear long pants, and bring a lens if you have one.
