What more idyllic a locale for discovering and learning about ferns than Fern Glenn?  Join Elizabeth Farnsworth, co-author of the Peterson Field Guide to the Ferns, for an easy ramble around interesting boreal wetlands, vernal pools, rolling hills, and a rare acidic talus slope community with huge trees.  Fern Glenn, a conservation area in Winchendon owned by Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust, is host to many species of ferns and their relatives, so there will be ample opportunity to get familiar with these ancient plants.  Bring your lunch to munch when we pause for the view over the glen of the "Glenn" (named for a brilliant local forester, Glenn Freden).
