This 3,526-acre state park offers a great diversity of plants and habitats, especially considering its proximity to Boston. We will visit as many of the 31 pteridophyte taxa as time permits, and show you how to identify them. It will be early enough in the season that they will be in good physical condition. Special attractions are the two chain ferns, Woodwardia areolata and W. virginica. Bring a bag lunch and come prepared for off-trail hiking, insects, briars, and poison ivy.
