Description:

Nothing evokes serenity and “naturalizes” a landscape like a glade of ferns. Easy to establish, ferns provide dependable, season-long greenery and texture. This course gives you the skills to identify ferns commonly seen in Rhode Island natural habitats and to select appropriate species to use in a landscape. The program consists of a classroom session and your choice of 2 field trips that you will choose during the classroom session. Field trip options are from 10 a.m.-12 noon on June 10, Fort Barton Woods, Tiverton, RI; June 23, Nicholas Farm, Coventry, RI; July 1, Winnisimet Woods, Tiverton, RI; Lime Rock Preserve, Lincoln, RI.
