Enjoy a unique tour of the world’s largest university-owned herbarium with more than 5 million pressed specimens. This rich and diverse collection from around the globe dates back to 1842 when botanist Asa Gray arrived at Harvard. After our tour, focusing on New England natives, we will have a bag lunch in a private room and then tour the glass flower collection, a highlight of the Harvard Museum of Natural History. German glass artisan Leopold Blaschka and his son Rudolph began creating these 830 remarkable colored glass plant models in the late 1800s. Their beauty and realism continues to astound us today. Bring a bag lunch. Explore the Museum on your own after our tour.
