Explore part of a 600-acre nature conservation area on the Phippsburg peninsula in mid-coast Maine to see mid-summer blooms of Appalachian sandplant., Minuartia glabra, chokeberry and many other native shrubs. This four-mile hike along a dirt road provides a moderate climb up Morse Mountain with lovely views at 210 feet, and then passes through a small salt marsh and ends at sandy Seawall Beach, where piping plovers are nesting. Bring a bag lunch and insect repellent.
