Come for an introduction to natural swimming pools with Chris Rawlings of Water House Pools. Learn how native aquatic and emerging wetland plant species are being used to create healthy, chemical-free and environmentally conscious "living water" pool and pond installations. Tour two different designs. The first, installed 3 years ago, is a large swimming pond connected to surface water, featuring solar recirculation and dynamic natural rockscapes. The second, built last fall, is a smaller "plunge pool," constructed with a rubber liner and native quarry stone. Located in a pre-existing barn foundation, it uses overfloPlunge Poolw from a domestic water supply. Discuss a variety of design variations, from rain water harvesting and bog filters, to mechanical /biological filtration, and learn how to select which design is appropriate to your specific site.
