This expansive property abounds with four thousand acres of wooded hills, lakes, and streams. Most is conservation land for wildlife with only about 75 acres open to the general public. Come explore areas not generally opened to the public and see the variety of plant material in July bloom. We visit the two pine barren gardens – with Aletris farinosa (white colic-root), Triantha glutinosa (false asphodel), Drosera intermedia (spatulate-leaved sundews), Vaccinium macrocarpon (large cranberry), Sarracenia purpurea (pitcherplant). There are picnic tables for those who wish to have lunch here before the walk and a natural history museum located at the visitor center as well.
