This course, formerly known as “Basic Botany,” provides an introduction to general plant anatomy and physiology. Students are introduced to the plant kingdom through slides and live materials. Microscopic study allows for detailed observation of roots, stems and leaves, and their component tissues. Examination of flowers, fruits, and seeds reveals the details of pollination, fertilization, dispersal and germination, emphasizing the relationship between plant form and function.
