This wonderful property contains rich mesic woods abounding with spring ephemerals and ferns which will be glorious at this time of year. We should see wild leek (Allium tricoccum), squirrel-corn (Dicentra canadensis), hepatica (Anemone acutiloba), blood-root (Sanguinaria canadensis), blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides), early meadow-rue (Thalictrum dioicum), walking spleenwort (Asplenium rhizophyllum), nodding wakerobin (Trillium cernuum), red columbine (Aquilegia canadensis), among others. This is a moderate to slightly challenging hike. Participants will need a good sense of balance and comfort moving on uneven loose surfaces. Bring water-resistant hiking boots, hand lens, field guides, water, and a bag lunch.
