STANDING ATTRACTION: New England Wild Flower Society’s Garden in the Woods presenting: BIG BUGS Sculpture Exhibit and Web-of-Life Extravaganza, July 12 - Oct 31, 2008. David Rogers’ dino-sized sculptures on 45 acres with 1,500 varieties of native plants. Special extravaganza events each weekend. Explore the world of insects at the BUGMOBILE with crafts and live bugs. Stamp your Big Bugs Map two weekends to win a BUGOLOGIST Pin. Create a sculpture at the Build-a-Bug Interactive Park. Take a Grasshopper jump. Enhance your visit with a Bug Activity Bag and a Bug-Venture Guide from the Visitor Center. Submit digital images to the BIG BUGS online gallery at bigbugsart@newenglandWILD.org. Admission $8 for adults; $6 seniors/students; $4 youths 3-18. Free for members and children under 3. Open daily 9-7 through Labor Day; open 9-5 Sept 2 - Oct 31. Rain or shine. Tours weekdays at 10, weekends at 2 included with admission. Shop the huge native plant nursery. LADYBUG WEEKEND: July 19-20 - Special events 12-3. Ask costumed character “DOTTI” the ladybug about her life as a bug. Join a ladybug release in the meadow garden and learn about insects with "warning colors". Explore ladybug crafts and bugs at the BUGMOBILE.
JULY 24, 10:30-Noon, BIG BUG, LITTLE BUG (children with adult companion) Discover how insects and plants help each other. Plant miniature gardens with bug sculptures. Garden in the Woods.
